We Got Nominated For the Newbie Blogging Liebster Award!

Business Broken Down has been nominated for the Newbie Blogging Liebster Award. Big thanks to Rosita from All In Place for this honor.

For all who might not know what the Liebster Award is, or what purposes it serves, this short explanation should clear things up for you. The Liebster Award is a great way of bringing together new bloggers who are navigating the tough and often murky internet waters. This award is for bloggers who have less than 200 followers.

The hope is that we can support each other as we try and grow our blog and brand. So Davina, how does this work? The person who nominates you for the award will pose a set of questions which you should answer.

In turn you will nominate newbie bloggers, and pose a set of questions which they can answer on their blog.

Now that you’ve got it, here are the questions that Rosita posed to me:

 

1. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging once I saw the need for simple and to the point business advice. While I put it off for quite a while, I finally lost my ‘B’ card with a little encouragement from another blog I followed- this sounds a lot like peer pressure.

2. How long have you been blogging?
I started blogging nearly 4 months ago, and these 4 months have been a lot of everything. A lot of learning, a lot of work, a lot of procrastination, a lot of self doubt, and a lot fun.

3. Do you have any kids? pets?
No on both counts.

4. How do you juggle work/life balance?
Haha..There is currently no work/life balance. With a full-time job and a blog, I’m treading water with the work/blog balance. However, I do try and meet up with my friends when they are in town.

5. Are you taking any educational classes to keep you up-to-date?
At the moment I am not taking any classes or courses. However, I subscribe to a few blogs that keep me up to date on the current happenings in the industry.

6. What do you do with your weekends?
Right now my weekends are filled with planning blog posts and finishing up any leftover work. However, if there is a chance to sneak away and take in some fresh air, then I’m game for that.

7. What would be your dream vacation?
Woah..dream vacations would be more like it. For now I’d say the Caribbean. Those sandy beaches are looking mighty fine.

8. Who do you admire most in this world?
I would definitely say my mother, and as of yesterday Serena Williams. There is nothing more admirable than a strong woman.

9. Who was/were your role model(s) when you were growing up?
As an avid football fan I would say Thierry Henry. There were several other role models along the way, and currently I highly respect Richard Branson..and on occasion Olivia Pope.

10. When do you feel the most at peace?
Let’s see. I feel the most at peace when I’ve completed a long work order or an overdue blog post. There’s nothing greater than clicking submit.
