Weekly Article Roundups: Small Business and Marketing

It’s been a really busy week, and I’m happy to report the great reception to the WordPress Plug-ins Beginners Guide. If you haven’t yet read this post, you should. In it I outline the plug-ins you need to run a well-functioning blog, so that you do not get stressed out about this sometimes confusing process.

Despite the hectic week I’ve had, I have tried to keep up with great blog posts from around the world. And boy, haven’t I learnt a lot.

I’ve been working on creating a social media strategy to boost traffic to the blog, and thanks to this step by step Social Media guide courtesy of Neil Patel I know have a direction in which to head into.

I also learned that Pinterest generates 4x more revenue (per click) than Twitter, and 27% more per click than Facebook. That is why I am currently combining the Social Media strategy discussed above, with this guide on how to get my first 1000 followers on Pinterest.

Neil Patel also published a post on how to get your slice of Reddit’s 150 million pageviews, but the truth is that I only visit this platform when looking for world news and absolutely hilarious stories. You might feel different about the usefulness of Reddit as a traffic source, so check out the post to decide.

Another important step I am taking in my efforts to create awareness for my blog is venturing into guestposting. There has been a lot of debate regarding the effectiveness of guestposting in this day and age, and my position is that guestposting is still a viable means of getting your name out there.

It is for this reason that I was glad to stumble upon the 4-step blueprint for guestposters, and I am using this to guide me on my guestposting journey.

Another great post I read was regarding internet marketing tools that you should be using, and in this post Matthew Woodward managed to wrangle in 42 experts so that they can spill the dirt on their most beloved marketing tools.

And because people love opening up to Matthew, I got to view a comprehensive income report roundup from bloggers who have found their footing in this cut throat online world. This is an especially great read for all bloggers who are looking for ways to monetize their blog now or in the future.

And before we end our lovely weekly roundup, let me leave you with some great quotes that I have come across this week. I hope they inspire you and launch you into the coming week:
